THE END PRODUCT

Here are the last few outside pictures of the new shed. Shelves need to be built inside, but the outer part is about as complete as it is going to be.

PROGRESSING

The shed now has front doors. Still needs the side door.
The shingles are on.

Another improvement is the radiant heaters that Brian put in the downstairs den. They feel nice and warm! If I can't have a fireplace, this is the next best thing.

NEW BEGINNINGS

On January 3, 2011, I began a new job. The job is still with El Paso County, but it is with a different department, DSD or Developmental Services Department. This department deals with land use and development. The job is still prepping documents for imaging, but the documents are completely different, and I am having to learn about what goes on when someone wants to build, annex, or develop a site. It has been both interesting and very confusing at times. My co-worker from the Records Dept. also got hired for the same job. So we moved to our new jobs together. Tammy P. graciously took some pictures and sent to me so that I could share with some of you.

This is a view of the front of the building. It is a fairly new building being built in either 2003 or 2004.

Picture of our work stations/desks. Mine is the one that is pictured the closest.

This is a picture of what I have termed as "the ironing board". It is actually a map scanner, but it makes me feel I am standing at an ironing board ready to iron. : )

On photo of me hard at work. hahaha I am actually going through a file trying to figure out where in the world the blasted documents fit---which category???

View of the front desk of DSD. We work in a big room behind this area.

Not an especially good photo, but this is looking toward the back of the main lobby of the building.

NEXT PHASE

Just a picture progress report on the shed. It will be so nice to have it completed and then we can put all our junk in there. : )

LATEST IMPROVEMENT

Year 2010 was fast and furious. It seems that I barely got accustomed to writing 2010, and now we are learning to put 2011. I have enjoyed all the blogs and accounts of everyone's activities and experiences the past year and look forward to hearing the events in the lives of family and friends this coming year.

In December Brian started tearing down the old metal shed that was in our back yard. By a stroke of good luck, the insurance company covered the costs of building or buying a new shed. This was due to the severe hail storm we experienced July 4. It has taken a while to get this project off the ground, but here we are. I should say, here Brian is. I have not helped much at all. I did get to help Brian load and unload building materials today. This past week Brian has made a lot of progress on building. Here are a couple of pictures to show where the project stands at present.

Today Brian put up 6 pieces on the sides. It was too dark to get pics of that this eve. Now there are 2 more side pieces and the roof. I will do my best to put up pics as he progresses.
